About Me

Kim Hartman Food Stylist
Oak Park, just outside Chicago
I have always been interested in food (one of my earliest recollections is wandering through my Aunt's pantry with fascination). Much to my Mother's annoyance, I grew up somewhat of a perfectionist. Everything needed to be the right color, the right style, the right look. My "cooking" career started with elaborate cakes made from mud, sand, sticks and pebbles from the backyard. I graduated to my Easy Bake Oven (which I still own). By the age of twelve I started pouring over cookbooks like most girls did Teen Beat Magazine. I started by making recipes for foods I had never eaten before. I love the science of cooking. Today I am so grateful to be able to put all of these interests together and make a career of it.
